MIM Mentorship Program
MIM Society aims to assist Turkish students and young professionals settle and adapt to their new environment. MIM members, all of whom are Turkish American professionals and who have experienced the challenges of moving from Turkey to the US, will offer their time, guidance and experience to help mentees navigate the transition to the US. This is a volunteer program and is not a program for financial aid or grants.
About Alev Erdi
Alev loves challenges and learning new professions.
She has a diverse background in medical imaging research, software development, management and entrepreneurship . As a researcher, she worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and presented at AAPM, IEEE EMBS conferences and has published eleven papers and two review articles with 953 citations.
Her training as a software manager at Rudolph Technologies taught her that to be successful in any career, an individual needs vision, initiation, communication, strategy, goal setting and performance.
As a mother, she established a nonprofit organization for autistic youngsters, also started and led Robotics Teams for High School and middle school students. She believes in the simple premise that we in higher education are in the business of transforming lives; It is our responsibility to prepare students for success. In 2011, She was offered to teach Medical Imaging course at NJIT. He was impressed by the facilities, but, more importantly, by the fact that faculty and staff truly care about the student. Currently, she serves as Programs Director at the Biomedical Engineering Department at NJIT. are working on new programs and new projects.
